Neuromodulation

Neuromodulation is a technique that targets nerves directly, employing the use of implanted devices and other methods to deliver stimuli to specific neurological sites in the body. Just like a cardiac pacemaker addresses irregular heart rhythms, neuromodulation therapies aid in restoring the proper functioning of the nervous system.

At Solutions in Pain, we acknowledge the numerous advantages of neuromodulation and its transformative impact on the lives of thousands of individuals. We employ a spectrum of this type of therapy for patients with conditions that include, but are not limited to:
• Chronic pain of the back and or legs resulted from failed back surgery syndrome
• Complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS)
• Peripheral neuropathy
• Headache syndromes, such as occipital neuralgia, migraines posttraumatic headache, and trigeminal neuralgia

We provide a variety of advanced techniques, including spinal cord stimulation (SCS), occipital nerve stimulation (ONS), peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS), and lesioning procedures such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA). By prioritizing individualized care, we strive to optimize outcomes and improve quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain conditions.

Spinal Cord Stimulation

Chronic pain is a common complaint in patients with a plethora of diverse spinal and neuropathic conditions. However, for the individual patients who have exhausted various modalities of treatment with minimal to no success including, but not limited to physical therapy, epidural injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, intrathecal pain pumps, decompression, laminectomy, vertebroplasty, fusion, and other surgical or non surgical interventions may qualify for implantation of a spinal cord stimulator (SCS). Clinical indications for SCS aside from treatment resistant chronic pain include, but are not limited to Failed Back Surgery Syndrome (FBSS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS).

Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation

Chronic back pain is burdensome and even more so for the individual patients who have exhausted various modalities of treatment with minimal to no success. These treatments include, but are not limited to physical therapy, prescription medications, nerve blocks, medial branch blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, intrathecal pain pumps, spinal cord stimulators, or surgical interventions. However, at Solutions In Pain we offer these treatment resistant patients the implantation of cutting edge medical devices such as the Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulator (DRGS). Please note that while similar to the SCS the DRGS is fundamentally different as it provides a more highly specific or focal targeting of chronic pain.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation

Chronic pain is a common complaint in patients with a plethora of diverse spinal and neuropathic conditions. However, for the individual patients who have exhausted various modalities of treatment with minimal to no success including, but not limited to physical therapy, epidural injections, medial branch blocks, radiofrequency ablation, intrathecal pain pumps, decompression, laminectomy, vertebroplasty, fusion, and other surgical or non-surgical interventions may qualify for implantation of a peripheral nerve stimulator (PNS). Clinical indications for PNS aside from treatment resistant chronic pain include, but are not limited to peripheral neuropathy, chronic joint pain, nerve entrapment, nerve injury, or Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). This is because unlike SCS or DRGS which targets nerves originating along the spine, PNS systems target specific peripheral nerves that your provider determines to be the origin of your pain.
